About Gail:

For the past seven years I have been a project manager for the Teaching American History grant program. During that time I developed curriculum for teachers to use in their classrooms. I also made classroom presentations for social studies classes, particularly concentrating on American Indian History, government and US history. My passion is US history from WWII forward, as well as American Indian history.

I have just moved to the Denver area and live in Lakewood. I love it here and plan to make it my home from here on out. Because I am originally from virginia, I have been exposed to early US history directly as I have visited washington DC, many Civil War battlefields, Jamestown, Williamsburg, Richmond, etc.

I have an MS in Education with a concentration in Reading Instruction. My passion is working with primary source documents and developing a students' ability to comprehend what they are reading across ALL content areas. During the time I was in graduate school I developed a children's book specifically for one of my practicum students. My strength is working with students on an individual level or in small groups. I have taught middle school social studies and government.

In addition to my background in history and political science I have graduate credits in African history, philosophy and history. I have passed Praxis 1 and 2 as well as Praxis for science and social studies middle and high school. I completed the "Career Switcher" program at Old Dominion University.
